Too many laws

The system is clogged. It is slowly strangling us.

We keep adding more laws than we remove.

We yawn when rules are put in place only to complain when their removal is threatened. It’s human nature.

The problem is that we’re destined to drown ourselves and the economy in utterly wasteful and unnecessary regulation. Furthermore, precisely the people who profit the most are the ones with the most influence.

The only solution is to codify the law, record its interactions, and use cold hard data to subtract. No matter how well-intentioned those useless laws sound.

You can safely bet that politicians, public sector "initiatives", or lawyers will not be the ones to do this.
